Anti consumer Apple

Traditionally, when you purchase a product you own it and that product’s manufacturer cannot tell you what you can or cannot do with it. In today’s day and age companies and corporations are actively taking steps and are lobbying to to counter these rights. Technology companies aren’t the only ones guilty of this, John Deere themselves implement policies that restrict what companies can do with the software used on their products. Apple is taking a similar but different approach, forcing customers to use their Genius bars to repair their devices instead of allowing the consumer to repair the device itself. Apple has notoriously taken legal action against small mom and pop repair shops for repairing devices with their OEM parts. More recently, Apple’s new T2 security chip installed in newer Macbooks now ‘brick’ or render the device completely useless if the insiders are tampered with by someone who is not certified to work on the device!
